Thane: The process for online application registration for a special CIDCO housing scheme for ‘Covid Warriors’ and ‘Uniformed Personnel’ will start on August 15 to coincide with Independence Day, an official said on Friday.

Under the scheme, a total of 4,488 houses will be made available by CIDCO in Taloja, Kalamboli, Kharghar, Ghansoli, and Dronagiri nodes of Navi Mumbai, comprising 3,400 units for those in the general category and 1,088 units for the economically weaker section (EWS) under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, he said.

Both guardian minister Eknath Shinde and CIDCO managing director Sanjay Mukherjee said the move was part of the town planning authority’s desire to show gratitude to those who have been at the forefront of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to a government resolution dated May 29, 2020, staff of various government departments can avail of the benefits of this scheme. The beneficiaries include staff of government departments concerned with the patient survey, patient tracking, prevention, testing, treatment, and support activities, Covid-related health workers, and other staff (district administration, police, home guards, Anganwadi workers, finance and treasury, food and civil supplies, water supply and sanitation, house-to-house survey assignment employees of various departments, etc) as well as all contractual/ outsourced/ daily wages/ad-hoc/ honorarium-based staff who were deployed for Covid-related duties.

Log on to lottery.cidcoindia.com/App

Step 2
If you are a new user, click on the ‘Register For Lot

Step 3
You will be redirected to the Applicant Registration Form, where you have to enter the basic details along with your mobile number, which will be used for all future communication.

Step 4
On the next screen, furnish your PAN card, Aadhaar Card, and bank details, for refunds. You will also need to upload a canceled cheque, as well as a passport-size photo of the applicant.

Step 5
Once you confirm the registration, you will be redirected to a screen, where you will be able to see whether your uploaded documents are approved by CIDCO. This might take up to 24 hours.

Once your documents are approved, the ‘Apply’ button will be enabled. Select the scheme that you want to apply for and note the code number for the same. You can select the scheme from the drop-down menu.
